The free version of the below VPN gives me a US IP address and allows me to watch American TV on HULU and other such US IPlayer type websites. You can pay and get an increased level of service but the free one works fine for me.

In addition it is totally idiot proof, download, sign up, login and then just click an on/off switch to swap between US and English IP.
