Can anyone help please!

Hi everyone,

Around 7 weeks ago i purchased a Digitrex 15" LCD TV from Currys in Exeter. This was intended for use in my motorhome. I have never been happy with this purchase, as unless you are viewing the tv from dead centre the picture looks like a negative. I attempted to return the set around 6 weeks ago only to be told that it would have to be sent off for repair, and they didnt think there was a problem with it anyway! As i was pushed for time, I didnt really argue this (wish I had now!) Having now had chance to use it regularly, I have come to the conclusion that the tv is utterly worthless to me. All I want is for the store to take it back, and i will quite happily pay extra to upgrade to a better model. What are my rights here? Any help massively appreciated

What do you mean by utterly worthless.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • i mean because of the way the tv is (very poor viewing angle) it doesnt do what i need it to. Due to the layout of my motorhome either me or the missus has to sit slightly off centre of the tv.My fault i suppose for buying the cheap option!

If the TV is not faulty (which it sounds like it isn;t its just poor quality) you have no rights to return it unless the shop agrees which I very much doubt they would after 6 weeks of use.
  • I have only used the tv twice though, surely its not fit for purpose? You literally have to be sat directly in front of it or the picture is unwatchable. I cant believe I have thrown £90 down the drain!

It appears that there is only a problem in your particular seating arrangement. Did you explicitly state the viewing conditions at the time of purchase?

You could perhaps try selling it on ebay, or somewhere similar, to recover some of your outlay.

See if you can find one switched on in a shop, or get one turned on, and see if the viewing angle is any better than yours.

From the specs on I have seen on the internet the viewing angle on that one should be about 120 degrees, sounds like you currently have zero (only viewable directly in front).

The specs should list a viewing angle. If you can measure it and prove the actual viewing angle is less than what is listed in the specifications, then you will have grounds for returning the product as it is not as described.
