if you take the cardboard sleeve off there *may* be a date on the film, some of the ready meals i have had have been 'double dated' but i cant say where they were from0

I just checked the crisps in my cupboard and they have a BB date of Sunday 17th October...quite gutted, was hoping they'd be a saturday and it'd be a proper mystery
;) Better to say nothing and look a fool than to speak and remove all doubt

When I worked for a major supermarket a good few years back, not talking the turn of the century though. We used nail varnish remover to make dates vanish :eek:0

AAARRRGGHHHH Becciboobah.
You have spoilt it - maybe the machine printing the date got it wrong or it was not set up correctly!0 -

I think that some supermarkets are planning on reducing the number of items they sell with use by dates. It probably doesn't affect ready meals, but things like veges and fruit are likely to not have use by dates printed on them in the future. Some people just refuse to use their heads when they look at an apple - if the date says it is not good for eating they take the supermarkets word for it. I think this is supposed to be a way of making us throw out less food. But i doubt it applies to ready meals...
It will not apply for short shelf life chilled that will have a food safety risk, eg cooked chicken on the pizza.
Some company may add the day it was produced on so you know how old it, so they claim to seel fresh still0 -
To update, i took it back and they replaced it! Simple! :laugh:0
