Hi,

I am trying to connect my laptop to my TV. I thought I was having some success aswhen I turned on the laptop the image came onto the TV but once loaded up the picture was only on the laptop.

What do I need to do in order to get the image on the TV screen please.

My laptop has Windows XP

You probably need to press a couple of keys to turn the video output on, something like FN and F3 or F4 pressed together. If you haven't got a manual then see if you can find a make and model number on the case and we'll see if we can find something more definitive for you.

It should be Fn + F5 to switch between displays, the F5 key may even have a picture of 2 screens on it.

I tried to download a manual from Acer, but none of English, French, German or Italian would work.
    http://support.acer-euro.com/documents/manuals/notebook/manual_tm4000.html

I had a look elsewhere - I've never seen this site before so can't vouch for it - and found this. I downloaded a manual and it says FN and F5 should change the display output between LCD and LCD + External.

Edit: You could have a look in the BIOS - the programme built-in to the computer that runs when it starts. You need to press F2 when it starts. There could be something video related in there.

Is there an ATI icon next to the clock? If so right click it -> Schemes -> Switch amongst displays

    Hi,

There is no ATI icon next to the clock or along the bottom.
