  • We had the same letter this week about an over payment, however not only did we ring but also sent a letter in of which we take copies of everything to do with the council and Government and have sent that off for the appeals committee. The lady I spoke to said as long as you have spoken to them or sent a letter then there is a good chance the decision will come down in your favour.

I don't know if this is any help, but it is a charity which specialises in dealing with the whole spectrum of tax problems. Their advice is free and they have qualified tax advisors: https://www.taxaid.org.uk
    Worth a try?
I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

I've been over paid ctc by 1739.78. I am waitng for the dispute forms to come through. I phoned & told them about every change of circumstances.Plus there's no way I can afford to pay back the 145.00 a month it would work out at.
