Things are very slowly but surly coming down! omg another letter appears on the mat!
I got a letter from the inland revenue yesterday Morning for a claim from April 05!!! ... saying they had overpayed me by £563.00 oh fantastic !
So i rang them and they said it was to do with my p60 etc from when i was working part time and that the repayments department will be intouch for me to pay it back !!
Why for once cant they make a proper calculation on the info they get ? ive always made sure ive sent everything they have requested ive also rung after recieving every award so they could go back over my details to make sure they were correct so how hard can it be for them !!!!
sorry Rants over but now thats an another £500.00 ontop of my other debts !

Back before computers I used to work in the Revenue and I'm baffled by this, if they had all your P60's (presuming here that you had a full and part time job) how could they get it wrong? Do you still have the calculation details that they sent out with the original repayment? Maybe if you post in the tax forum someone more up to date than me can help.0

they are useless. did the same to me so i'm paying mine off from 2004! (they informed me in july 06!) and said i hadn't given them information for three months which is utter and complete lies! idiots!official dfw nerd club member no 214

I got four bills on the 11th all for different amounts raging from £125 to £2700 of overpayment. No one at the tax credits office can tell me which si right, no-one can tell me how they managed to come up with the figures. Instead I have to re-submit all of my figures again and hope that they get the numbers right before October 27th when the repayment is due.

There is definatly a pattern emerging with the "good ole" tax credits people they exel themselves every time dont they !
I really cant understand how they came to the decision and when i rang all she said was "oh its to do when you sent your p60 in" and it being a single and then a change in claim! .... GGRrrrrHoping to be a thinner me in 2010!0 -
i know this probably isn't much help but i posted before about this, apparantely as from next year if you have changes in your circumstances below 25.000 (i think) and you inform tax credits but they overpay you, or you have been overpaid even after informing them you do not have to pay it back, i'll have to look in to it and i'll put a post up 1day.official dfw nerd club member no 214

Yeah OH had the same. About 12 bills all for the same 3 years and all completely different. Some saying they owed him then some saying he owed them.
Now they want £3,000 repaid in the next 12 months.
He's self employed but at the end of every year sends them the details and now they've decided to claim back 4 years worth that they say is overpaid!!
Got no idea how they work it out as the forms are so confusing.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

I had to repay £357 because apparently we hadn't informed them about a change in circumstances even though I'd phoned them on numerous occasions to let them know what was going on - I wouldn't mind but it was only a tenner a week anyway!0
