Phone Scam

We have just had a call from a company distributing a Drug Awareness magazine to our local schools - asking what school would I nominate to recieve these magazines. As Always I asked whether this would be a service we would have to pay for. She said "no, the schools have nominated local businesses for their support." Still sceptical I listened to her "pitch", and was told that they would nominate a school and could they have my last name as confirmation. Luckily I gave a false name because immediately afterwards I was told a free copy would be sent to us with the invoice for £250.
I told her she had said it was free, she then said - "it was agreed last year that we would only be invoiced after the campaign had finished (which was now). I asked her by who - she said one of the directors, I asked which one - she didn't know.

WARNING - it is a complete scam to get a last name and company details so that they can invoice you £250.
