I know it might be a long shot but does anyone know where I can get some in the southwest. Been recommended it but can't seem to find any farmers in the area breeding goats.

Never heard it before, but OK, even if a goat does do that, I don't think the difference between goat and horse manure is worth searching extra for.freezspirit wrote: »Been told goat digestive their food better than other animals so a better quality stuff comes out the other end.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
Yes, I have read that Goat muck is the best balanced manure you can get, containing all the major plant nutrients required.
The BGS site will give the contacts for the South West clubs.

My father always used to go out with a bag and a hand shovel to collect sheep droppings from nearby fields. He put them in a bucket of water, gave them a stir every now and then, and used it as liquid fertiliser on his veg.

I guess sheep are not far removed from goats in the fertiliser stakes, although goats eat a much wider range of food as they like to browse hedgerows rather than just eat grass like sheep/cows/horses. Perhaps that's why it's better quality.
If I'm over the hill, where was the top?0 -
My friend breeds and milks goats, she has trouble getting rid of the manure because these days it is classed as a hazadous waste! We are in Dorset.0
