I don't know how long it takes, I'm afraid. I have never used a bank's switching service; I have always transferred everything myself.

    Hi all

Quick question, i earn just over £1600 a month (after tax) and so im guessing ill be ok for the FD account, i was just thinking though....if in the future i increase my pension payments, i might only be clearing £1400 a month....or around that mark, so what would i do in that case? can i just withdraw £100 and pay it back into the account to make it up to the £1500?

If anyone knows whether this is permitted id be really greatful, on martins main page about the FD account, it says you CAN do this.....i think?! x

There's no need to bother with that hassle. Just take out the FD credit card, or open an everyday e-saver account. You don't ever have to use it, -as long as you keep £1 in it. Either of these will mean that you don't have to pay the monthly banking fee.

Well, thats me setup, just waiting for my DD to be transfered over and im complete :-)

Smooth easy process, very helpful when i rang up to activate and ask questions.

Got my nice black card today, waiting on the pin but other then that its been real easy.

Oh and the added benefit of a £250 interest free OD is good. Not too sure about the other £250 though.
