Really annoying car battery died over night - had to replace the battery, now the radio is requesting a code

Identification number (VIN) WF0RXXGCDRBE50065 i have rang ford they tell me that its £30 to retrieve the code (little credit card size cardboard code holder in the glove compartment but its blank) after paying for the new battery today is this the only option?

You will have to get the serial number off the radio to find the code. Sometimes pressing buttons 1 and 6 or 2 and 6 together will display it. If not the radio will have to be removed to find it on the label on the back. It will usually be a M or V followed by six numbers. Post the serial number and we can try and find the code for you.

That is not the serial number.
