Hey guys, could someone help with a radio code I need after the battery was disconnected.




I have a Renault Megane 2004 with the following info (not sure which is required for producing the code).

Just for a laugh I also went to a Ford garage (one that I have long stopped using for many reasons) they quoted me not only £30 (inc VAT) but they said the car would have to come in as they have to take the stereo out to get the serial number. (Not true!) I said I have already done that but they then said that stereos sometimes have a 30 minute timer (not heard of this) and that it takes time to get the code from head office. (hard to believe they don't have a code generator in the office). Essentially no matter what I said they came back with a crazy answer.



A more plausible answer would have been we check the car and make sure the stereo isn't stolen. I would then understand but these other answers sounded like they would look for other opportunities to find faults with the car to sell me more services.

just found this gem of a post. My wife is heading up to Alton Towers tomorrow, and since having my car battery replaced I have been without a radio/satnav (12 months now.....)

Sorry. Your code will only be available from a main dealer or the unit will have to be taken into a radio decoding specialist.
