  • Hi there

    My mum's Vauxhall stereo has been locked after she lent the car to a friend who took the front of it off when she was parked with the roof down.
    We have taken the stereo out now, but it's not too clear which number is the serial number. Unfortunately she was not provided with a manual when purchasing the car. All the information is as follows:

    Front panel:
    Number on the back: GM24465993

    Stereo unit:
    Philips GM330886636
    No. 24455380
    Type: CCR600
    W8S

    On the sticker there are also 2 barcodes with 14 digit numbers, one of which I guess must be the serial number;
    90123000008500
    00303441509618

    Any assistance with retrieving the code to unlock the unit would be much appreciated.

    Many thanks

    Check to see if there's any other numbers actually stamped on the metal casing. I'd expect the serial number of your radio to be 14 digits begining with letters GM0600.... similar to GM0600V1234567.. Maybe yours is using a newer style of serial codes I don't know.

    Just a note, before you disconnected your radio from the power it wouldn't have needed a code. It is a very common problem when the security panel is removed and doesn't make a good contact when re-seated the radio will request a code... connection cleaner would've solved this..

    I changed the battery on a 2nd hand Focus I bought and now it needs a code. Would anyone please be able to help me out with a code for a 2004 Ford Focus Zetec 1.8 with a 6000cd radio? I've pulled the radio out and the serial number is M518087

    Thanks in advance.
