That unit has a "user set" code. The net shows 5415 (freely available via google) on the remote as a master code and may unlock it then you can put your own code in or de-activate the code function. http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/product/XAV-60

Thanks for this, unfortunately I'd found this when I first began looking... that code didn't work, and using the remote doesn't work, only pressing the numbers on the touchscreen does it. I contacted the previous owner and he didn't remember having to set any code, he'd bought it from Halfords and they weren't able to help. Altogether it's been a bit of a shambles, no music for months now :-( but I don't want to buy a whole new unit just because of something so silly!

Ford V Serial codes are not usually available for free from anywhere on the Internet (unless you can blag it for free from Ford) as they are not calculated using software but require access to the Ford factory database( via a Ford Dealer)...which is not commercially available as software.

See your PM message for reliable options

Otherwise try your Ford Dealer or a Radio Decoding Service

Sorry....your code will only be available from someone with access to the Main Dealer database or the unit will have to be taken into a Radio Decoding Service

It is unlikely to be available for free from anywhere on the Internet
