Hi all,

I've got a 2006 (55 plate) Peugeot 307 with a Blaupunkt RD4 T5 CD player. Recently it has developed a fault whereby it'll work for 9 seconds, cut out, restart, play for 9 seconds, cut out, restart and so on. When it cuts out, the dash mounted display goes out too. Weirdly, the problem only occurs whilst the radio/cd is on and outputting sound. If I keep the unit switched off, the dash mounted display doesn't cut out.

I'm looking at buying a replacement RD4 unit on eBay in the hopes this will solve my problem.

What would I need to do to make a second hand RD4 work in my vehicle?

I've already spent a small fortune on a new clutch and service and have very little money to spend in fixing this issue.

Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks.

If you can quote all the letters and numbers on the label on the radio casing then it might help.

According to the database, many of the Blaupunkt RD4 are VIN coded which means they have to be electronically linked to your car`s electronics.

The cutting off you have mentioned may be something to do with that

The sticker has come off the top of my radio, so I only have a small sticker on the top of the plastic fascia. I can see where the sticker used to be, but it's not there anymore. I've checked behind the dash incase it's fell down, but it doesn't seem to be there.

Sorry....your code will only be available from the Main Dealer database or the unit will have to be taken into a Radio Decoding Service

It is unlikely to be available for free or cheap from anywhere on the Internet
