    Ringtail,

if its a 99 Focus it probably has the old type unlocking method.

There should be two round holes either side of the unit. Either buy the release keys from Halfords(take the car and they will advise you-may even show you how to do it)or use an old metal coat-hanger and make your own.

My 56 Focus has the unit with slots at the top and bottom. Couldn't get it out without ordering 2 sets of keys at 6.99 a pair. Took it to our local Sextons and their engineer popped it out within seconds. AND he wouldn't accept a drink for it!!

Once you have removed the unit there should be a serial number on the radio itself

    Good luck

    Bill

    Alimartin888,

Hope I'm right but most times you press the first button again and again to bring the first digit up, second button for the second code digit and so on. Usually the fifth key accepts the code.

If you go to www.car-audio-accessories.co.uk/code-entry-help you may find instructions on how to enter a code. The code entry instructions are free. May be worth a look

  • Bill,

can you double check that number, it shouldnt begin with a V, more likely an 0, C, L or M.

    See http://www.online-unlock.com/faq.php#17

EDIT Ah sorry Bill, seen you already confirmed in the other thread it is a V. Reading abouyt it seems you cant get programs that will generate the unlock code for V serial numbers :(
  • Bill,

according to what I can find on t'internet, to unlock a Visteon takes a reprogramming of the EPROM in the radio so looks like you'll have to get help elsewhere :(

All this talk reminds me I should dig out my code in case I ever need it! I did get caught out once when I was Down South and had to spend 12 hours driving with no music or radio.
  • Thanks - found a man who could! Serial no. is M111022

Just had to sing nursery rhymes for half an hour solid, so getting desparate!

    Thnx
