    Hello RegWorts and others-

I have fallen gleefully upon this helpful Thread, as a non-techie lady of certain age will. I've read my Haynes, local garage extracted radio[luckily with 'M' prefix] from my:

    T Reg Ford Focus Estate
    Radio no. M311354

We also saw, hand-written further down - 2574 and he said that might be the code.
Car wouldn't go at times last week, and it turned out to be battery thing needed tightening. I'd been twiddling them about to get it to start; thought that was how they were supposed to be. Garage man said No. Upshot was 'Code = = =' on radio display, although car now goes again.

Haynes doesn't say how to enter the numbers, but I entered them after the word 'Code', using buttons 1-4[there are 6]. The Earth did not move. Should the radio come straight on if the right code is entered? Is that the correct way to do it?

If so, I'm assuming 2574 is NOT the correct code.

I would be so grateful if anyone can help and expand the How To bit please, if I'm doing it wrong. Haynes omits this deliberately, referring owner to the eon radio manual. I had no handbooks of any kind with this car. Also, if it's relevant, I use my keys manually as the remote fob thing worked only sporadically from the start, so I've never bothered.

Haynes' para. about 10 attempts and 3 goes with 30mins wait in between is correct, as i found out last night.........

Thankyou so much, in advance. Can't be without The Wireless for a fortnight over the water, where I'll be this time tomorrow.

    Merci millefois G. Ayrton.

Are you able, please, to explain exactly what I do?
Or should it be that entering that code just makes the radio work immediately?
Do I just enter the codes using buttons 1-4?
Do they have to be 'locked in' in some way?
is there some finishing action I have to take?

    Thankyou again:D

SUCCESS! Found an old Yahoo answer where someone wrote of 'entering '5' after the code as in my Manual'. Ça marche!
