Sometimes pressing buttons 6 & 1 together or 6 & 2 will display this number

Otherwise remove the radio from the dashboard and post the SERIAL NUMBER found on a label on the casing

The 1 and 6 together show serial as M104714, code 3176.
I enter the code and the display shows WAIT 30.00 and then counts down thirty minutes.
The code is definitely correct for that serial number, the serial number seems to be correct but it's still not working.
We just got a new battery so nothing else was detached.
Any ideas?

3176 yes the code is correct for that serial No. YOU MUST LEAVE THE RADIO SWITCHED ON FOR THIRTY MINUTES, then put code in when you see the correct code on the display press button 5. And you make certain the serial is correct and posted correctly.
