The radio may have been replaced check your serial No. is correct and from the radio that is fitted now. It is more likely the radio has been changed rather than the code. If you found the serial in the hand book may be incorrect. Make sure the serial No. is from the unit fitted and not found on a scrap of paper in the vehicle.

make, model, and serial numbers on the unit itself.
try not to trust what is in the manual as the stereo could well have been changed at some point.
