Car Radio Unlocking

So I got a bit screwed over

On my 6000cd focus I was advised to get keys to remove the system to get a serial number & ask here for a code

Ordered the keys for a few quid from ebsy & they're crap. One got jammed

I thought I'd go to local garage to remove the whole thing for £15

After yanking out the jammed key, he simply held down one of the buttons, possibly 1, then up flashed the serial number

At which point he mentioned the fee to acquire a code from their database at which point I was over the barrel

So nearly £20 wasted on something that was / looks free (serial number) had the advice be known here & other sites

Sometimes pressing buttons 6 & 1 together or 6 & 2 will often display the Serial Number
