Press 6&1 or 6&2 and the serial may appear on the screen clearly in the form V or M654321, if not the unit needs to be removed from the dash to get the number from the sticker. http://www.fitaudio.com/index.php?CategoryID=13

V serial codes are not available free, try ebay for the best deal, around £3 - £5.
