    ok, thanks for the advice. Obviously I don't want to go off to a main dealer and spend silly money on a radio that I only payed £10 for at a scrapyard, I'll go and ask them if they'll swap it for me, what do I need to look out for so that I don't end up getting a radio that is also VIN coded?
    On the label there should be a SECURITY NUMBER. in the format TOA123 or TA123 or just A123 at the end of a barcode .
    If it says XT00 or TX000 or T0X000 then I`m fairly sure that is normally a VIN coded radio.
