Just had to have the alternator replaced on my Ford Focus, now the stereo is asking for a code, and not accepting the one I have for it. The serial number is M519250...Model is 6000CD...

Is it possible that it isn't working because I've attached an MP3 adaptor thing to the back (where the CD multichanger would go)? Should I disconnect this before entering the code?

The correct radio SERIAL NUMBER is required for a code

It usually begins with M or V followed by SIX digits ...such as M654321 or V654321

Sometimes pressing buttons 6 & 1 together or 6 & 2 will display this number

Otherwise remove the radio from the dashboard and post the SERIAL NUMBER found on a label on the casing
