I'm looking for a downloadable user manual for a Delco CDR 500 radio for a 51 plate Astra.

Any clues where I can get a downloadable version as I've searched and can't find one anywhere?

I know you get 9 or 10 attempts to input the correct code before the radio locks you out.

I'm down to 7 attempts left to get the right code. Does anyone know how much delay there is after each failed attempt coz I've tried to put another code in and nothing is happening. It now feels like my fingers have gone to sleep.

I've pushed in AS then turned on the radio, got the beep and then 7 SAFE appears on the radio screen...now do I keep BOTH pressed in or Just AS? I'm getting fed up now, coz I don't have the manual to refer to, and I hate driving without a radio...it's just not what I'm used to!!!

So, any clues?

Could I please have the code for my daughters Ford Ka stereo. We just bought the car second hand and it doesn't come with any paperwork for the stereo

To reset from 7SAFE press ON button and AS Button at the same time .....then leave SWITCHED ON ....UNDISTURBED until it has automatically reset itself. This can take an hour or longer.

Once it has reset, enter the code , press AS and your radio should now work.

Code Entry Instructions

Switch the ignition key ON

Press and hold AS button and the ON button at the same time

Display Shows SAFE then goes to 10 - - - - with a "Beep" from the speaker

Press Preset Button " 1 "repeatedly until the 1st Digit of your Code is displayed
Press Preset Button " 2" repeatedly until the 2nd Digit of your Code is displayed
Press Preset Button " 3" repeatedly until the 3rd Digit of your code is displayed
Press Preset Button " 4" repeatedly until the 4th Digit of your code is displayed

If the display now shows the correct Code number then

Press Button AS and hold to Enter and if successful there should be a "Beep" from the speaker and the radio should switch on

I don`t think there are any free , downloadable manuals for this radio.

Ebay often have the originals for sale.
