Hi li2011am Have you tried 9227 this is correct unlock for M172118. The 30 means wait for 30 mins. to input another try, Be certain you have the correct code and the serial number is the correct one (no type errors) and code is correct in display before pressing button 5.

Be careful trys are limited.

9227 is the correct code for M172118

Make sure M172118 is the correct Serial Number as any numbers with the car documents may be incorrect.
Sometimes pressing buttons 6 & 1 together or 6 & 2 will display this correct number

Otherwise remove the radio from the dashboard and post the SERIAL NUMBER found on a label on the casing

Late Four Digit Ford Radio Codes (no SELECT button)

ie. Ford 3000 Traffic, 4000RDS, 5000RDS, 6000RDS, 6006E, etc

Switch the radio on and the word CODE should appear in the display

Repeatedly press button 1 until the correct first digit of the code is displayed.
Repeatedly press button 2 until the correct second digit of the code is displayed.
Repeatedly press button 3 until the correct third digit of the code is displayed.
Repeatedly press button 4 until the correct fourth digit of the code is displayed.
Once the code has been correctly selected on the radio's display, press button 5 to enter.
