I think I my have got it wrong - will double check but the code didn't work so it's probably me. Why came up was MGPDJS 408 Serial 050803 and I just assumed it was M and 6 digits. Will have to check tomorrow and come back. Already entered it wrong twice :(
No, the serial clearly shows as M123456 if your model supports the key press method. You will need to pull it out.

I had to disconnect my battery to charge it up, when I reconnected it, the radio said code, I entered the code I have on the Keycode Security sticker and in the handbook I received with the car which is 8359 but this does not work, each time I enter it the radio starts the 30 minute countdown again, I have also entered it 5 times.
My serial number is M168844 and the radio is a 5000 RDS.
    Thank You
That is the correct code for that serial. The radio will have been changed. Try pressing 6&1 or 6&2 and the serial may show on the screen, it will clearly display as M123456 do not assume any other numbers mean anything. If not pull it out, the serial is on the sticker.

Pressed 1 and 6 together and I got MGPDJS 4-08 nothing after that, I don't have the tools to take the unit out, is there a way to get the unit out without damaging it or the dash?

What car / year is it ? If it is the unit with the 4 round holes in the corners then nails / small screwdrivers / bits of wire coat hanger / drill bits can be gently pushed in to release the locks.

It's a Ford Mondeo W (2000) plate, it has 4 holes, just ordered the unlock tool on ebay as I don't want to damage the radio.
