    mole rat -- serial number is on the form direct from ford. which came with the car when we brought it. tried the code, but still says 'locked' i think ur right - its time for a new stereo! lol thanks for you help.

    4917 is the correct code for that serial. Where did you get that M serial from ? Give us the M****** serial directly from the radio sticker and we will be able to help. You have a limited number of tries left before the radio goes in the bin so the correct serial is essential.

    Forget what you have written down , take radio out of dashboard and check the 'correct' s/n

    i Cant see it on the metal casing. where abouts is it on the metal casing i took out the radio and only saw a sticker with all those details on it.

    There is a way of getting out of "locked" but if we tell you and the M serial you quoted is not correct, you do not know it is unless you physically check the unit, and you carry on entering the wrong code you will kill the radio. As wallbash said above pull it out, check the serial and get back to us.
