Hi there, sorry to be a pest as I'm so new, but if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated :) The 6000RDS Radio in my Ford Ka has no bother playing CDs, but after a trip to the garage it just buzzes when trying to tune in to FM radio. I have done some research and I think it may just need this keycode, the Ford dealership wanted to charge me £20 to have a look, and my local garage tried to sell me a £110 new radio!! The number on it is M022911, if anyone knows the code and how to unlock it this would be awesome :) Thanks
5223 is your code ........ but ....... If it is not showing "code----" on the screen and it is playing cds ok then it is unlikely that the code is needed. It sounds more likely that the aerial is disconnected or the tuner is dead. If it has a removeable keypanel try taking it off and putting back on again. Another fix is to remove the unit from the dash and pull the plugs out leave for 30 mins and plug back in again, you will need the code after this. What work was done on the car ?

Thanks, I had an issue with the fuse for my electric boot release switch and the lighter had blown, these were fixed and a few days later the radio went. I thought it may have been the tuner or aerial but it still picks up Medium Wave channels so clearly! I've heard that if you turn the radio on when the engine is off and leave it for an hour it can reset itself but i don't want to drain the battery...

Hi, I don't think leaving it on will do much for you're problem, you had electrical prob's. so maybe wiring got disturbed and arial may have been disturbed as mw/lw are ok it is most likely arial has moved or worst scenario fm tuner may be fault.
Have the arial checked and some systems also have preamplifiers on arial.
  • Hi,
