    Hi,
I'm new to the forums, but am hoping someone out there will be able to help me. I've just bought a new motor (2nd hand) and the previous owner obviously had there own stereo in there, so on selling the car they took that stereo and just put any old thing in the vacant hole. Now after getting the stereo out and connecting it all up, as soon as it gets power, obviously its asking for the code and i dont have it! (and I need by tunes driving in silence is horrible i have to listen to my other half! lol)

the only sticker on the stereo says the following:
    Model PU-2294B(D)
    Serial No. CL0402Y0240428

above the serial no. it has a string of numbers as follows 96 392 194 80
Thats about as much as I can tell you, however from this i have worked out its a Clarion unit.
Hoping someone can help, and thanking in advance.
the only CLARION code available for free (using a serial number ) from anywhere on the Internet is if your radio also has a BARCODE SERIAL NUMBER beginning with
    C 7000000 + + + + on a separate label somewhere on the metal casing.
    (Note ...not beginning with CL.)

If not then it will only be available from your Main Dealer or a Decoding Service or your local Car Radio / Audio Store who will connect a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM) inside your radio.
  • Thanks for your time and help RegWorts, but alas no it only has 2 stickers on the metal case the 1 I described and 1 to tell it contains a class 1 laser product, but I can see where there have been 2 other stickers peeled off and left the sticky residue.
