thanks wallbash -- I'm on my very last attempt before it gets locked ! .. before i try it, do you know if there is anythign i can do to reset this back ... just in case the code doesnt work ?? .. I did have one written in the log book (which didnt work - but wasn't the one you've given which is good!) so i tried various combinations of it and am now at the last attempt !

Don't panic. double checked and the code is correct for the details you gave.

Future ref , if you input 10 wrong codes , you get LOCK 10 but there is a means of getting another three attempts , before LOCK 13 ( dead radio)

I have the VIN number and it's the original radio, do I have to pull the radio to get the serial number or is the VIN good enough?

The radio SERIAL NUMBER is required for a code

It usually begins with M or V followed by SIX digits ...such as M654321 or V654321

Sometimes pressing buttons 6 & 1 together or 6 & 2 will display this number

Otherwise remove the radio from the dashboard and post the SERIAL NUMBER found on a label on the casing
