Sorry RegWorts but there seems an extra problem. I have been trying this at various times all week turning it on whilst pressing the AS button and after approx 1 hour the radio turns itself off! It still says SAFE when I turn it back on again. Just sat in the car for the last 20 minutes and it just did it again. Help.

It will have to be removed from the car and connected to a battery supply (plus speaker+aerial) on your workbench .

Press AS and ON and leave switched on overnight.

In the morning enter the code , press AS and it should work.

The bench battery supply can be a spare battery or battery charger

Your radio is made by CLARION and the only CLARION code available for free (using a serial number ) from anywhere on the Internet is if your radio also has a BARCODE SERIAL NUMBER beginning with
C 7000000 + + + + on a separate label somewhere on the metal casing.
(Note ...not beginning with CL.)

If not then it will only be available from your Main Dealer or a Decoding Service or your local Car Radio / Audio Store who will connect a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM) inside your radio
