DO NOT trust books! Possibilities - the unit has been changed, wrong code written book or the radio has been recoded.
First 2 most likely, remove the unit and check the serial on the radio. If the serial matches then the unit has been recoded, afraid you will have to have it redone but stay away from dealer, use a local ICE specialist, most wil do it and cheaper0 -

Hi there,
I've been reading back through the forum and see that i need the radio serial code to request an unlock code. (usual story battery died no radio - own singing getting annoying)
But my radio is a Phillips CCR660 (or 600) and someone posted with a similar model and was told it was not possible.
Before i start trying to rip out my radio will it be possible to unlock it or is it quicker to go a dealer?
Thanks in advance
A 2001 Philips radio is unlikely to be in the available database.
However the radio will still have to be removed from the dashboard at the dealers.....and he will usually charge for it so it may be cheaper to remove it yourself.

Here is a video showing how to remove a standard radio from the dashboard.
A pair of extractors are required (available from Ebay etc ) but these can be made from 2 pieces of bent, wire coat-hanger or 4 small drills(using the blunt end) or 4 small Allen Keys or 4 small screwdrivers or 4 nails or even 4 darts.
An assistant is useful to pull the radio out whilst you are releasing the 4 securing clips

note: on some radios especially VAUXHALL , these 4 holes are protected by 4 small screws. These can be unscrewed using the appropriate size of Allen key.0 -

The chances are you are using the wrong Serial Number and Code
Sometimes pressing buttons 6 & 1 together or 6 & 2 will display your correct Serial Number
Otherwise remove the radio from the dashboard and post the SERIAL NUMBER found on a label on the casing0 -
