Reg, Thanks a lot for the links and advice, but I am somewhat embarrassed to say that I found the code. I was taking out CD's of the small compartment above the radio to see if there was any clips to remove it when I found a Nissan Radiopass sticker taped inside with the serial and the code. I have never noticed this before and we've had the car since October!!!

Once again thanks for your help, you really do provide a essential and moneysaving advice for someone in my position and also very quick to offer advice. Thanks again.
