The actual MAKE + MODEL of this unit will be required as I don`t recognise the format of the Serial Number.(Chrysler only "badge" other manufacturers` radios)
Also quote ALL the LETTERS and NUMBERS found on any LABELS , BARCODES or STAMPED IN THE METAL CASING
  • any idea how i find what make it is the model number is P56038585AO i have been told chrysler have used clarian in the past

Yes , the P56038585AD is a CLARION unit.

Unfortunately the only CLARION code that can be calculated on any of these free Help Boards are the ones with a BARCODE SERIAL NUMBER beginning with C7000000 - - - -

    see the Clarion example here

    http://www.davidsonelectronics.co.uk/serial_locate.htm

So the radio will have to be removed from the dashboard and checked for this barcode label.
If yours does not have this barcode number ...and your Main Dealer can not provide your code , then you will have to use a professional Radio Decode Specialist ( try a Google search or Ebay.)
