Thanks RegWorts but as I said in my original message, I do have the code for this radio. The problem is that I have never been given the chance to enter it. The message on the display is "SAFE". No matter how many times I press the AS button or any of the pre-sets, the "SAFE" message never changes. It appears as though I have been "locked out" even though I have NEVER entered the code, either correctly or incorrectly. I have left the unit powered up for hours as this normally clears this sort of problem but it hasn't worked this time. I'm close to buying a new unit which is a shame as the CCR 600 made a nice sound. More suggestions welcome!!

Sorry...I misread your message as it usually says SAFE after wrong codes have been entered.

The normal reset procedure is to leave it SWITCHED ON...UNDISTURBED for as long as it takes to automatically reset itself.

If you have an AS button , then you may have to press the AS + ON buttons together before leaving it switched on to reset itself
