yes you need to remove the radio and post the serial/model
can be found stamped in to the metal casing on the back of the radio.

Ok thanks again,:j do you also know what must connected to the SAFE pin, is it a dc-voltage or is it a data line. The radio is going to be installed in a other car(no Ford).

guys trying to help my mom, her old radio is gm0300t5490416 and the one i bought in the junkyard is gm020521156415 need a code for to get at least one of them working for her. many thanks
