If you have quoted the correct Serial Number to the Vauxhall Dealer and the code they gave you is the correct one as listed on their database then it will look as though your radio has been recoded in the past to a completely different number so the memory chip (EEPROM) will have to be physically /electronically checked by a Decode Specialist and recoded to a new code.

Just check + requote the Serial Number again to see if it can be rechecked. It has to be 14 characters long.

the cd changer itself also needs a code ( i think)

Yes you are right I missed a digit out, let me try again. phillips car 400 radio serial number is GM0400W1833085. The code that vauxhall supplied was 8492, taken from the cars VIN number. Sorry about that, fingers crossed!!
