Have you got the correct Entry Instructions for this radio as quite often you use Button 1 pressed several times for digit one, button 2 for digit two and so on .

see

http://www.davidsonelectronics.co.uk/code_entry.htm

It doesn't give me the opportunity to press several times. Press 0 once and you get two 00's first followed by a gap! Perhaps I'm doing something wrong but I don't want to keep trying as it takes ages to try again. I've seen on here that it can take hours before you can try again. It's very frustrating. Keeping a mental note of a car radio code amongst other pin numbers/passwords is a joke! My Hyundai doesn't have a coded radio thank god. Moral of the story is 'buy a cheap car with no gadgets and it's costs you less in the long run'. If you haven't got electric windows, hey ho, if one packs up, the others work. Thanks for your help but even restoredclassic@aol.com are at a loss at the moment, they are asking for a barcode!

I may have misled you with that... It is an original factory fitted stereo from when the car would of been bought brand new. Is it still the case that I need a specialist?

Unfortunately the codes for a DELCO radio are derived from a massive database (which is not readily available for purchase. ) and so does not use calculator software to derive the code.
This means that Main Dealers and perhaps some of the bigger "professional" Decode Specialists have access to this database ....but I don`t think anyone on these free Help Boards does. (I don`t even know of any database software readily available to purchase apart from the multi thousand ££ professional collection)
The alternative for the Decode Specialist is to have the radio delivered to their workshop , open it up and reprogramme the chip (EEPROM) to a completely new code number using specialist kit .

I can`t really personally recommend anyone as I`ve never had to use one but this chap claims to be one of the cheapest at £15 including p+p
http://www.codes4u.co.uk/
You could try the Main Dealer as sometimes they give the code out for free from their database .... providing you have the paperwork.

Made in France, (No make name) V)602 - Part No 463641 - L577PMR - V0511FP9026887

I gave 4362 as a long shot because this "Made in France" radio looks like a Volvo badge on a Philips radio and the V602 looks like a Philips Security code.
The only entry instructions that I know of for a Volvo Philips are different to the ones on that previous demo link.
You could try them just in case they are the correct ones.

Philips VC708 Volvo Code Entry
Switch radio ON , display will show 'C'
Press P1 followed by the tuning button to rotate the first digit
Press P1 followed by the tuning button to rotate the second digit
Press P1 followed by the tuning button to rotate the third digit
Press P1 followed by the tuning button to rotate the fourth digit

• Where do I find P1?

I don`t really know as you have the radio in front of you and I don`t.

Are there any Preset Buttons?
Are there any Programme Buttons?
Are there any Push Buttons?

Remember, I did say that these were the ONLY instructions I knew of for a four digit code Volvo Philips and they are not necessarily the correct ones for your particular model. (but could be ?) .

I just thought they might give you a clue as an alternative method of entering the code compared with the usual "standard" method as shown on that link to that demonstration website.

Your radio may not even be a Philips as you`ve not discovered any particular label that says it is, . It`s just that the only number that made me think it was was the V602 might be a Philips Security Number and the "Made in France" label.

Hi, came across this thread lat night and thought, woo hoo, can you help me? My Dad has a Volvo 740 the radio hasn't worked for a few years now due to battery failure and no code. Anyway I took note of the requirements you needed to maybe help me and was surpised that the radio was so easy to extract (obviously been done before at some time). This is the info I managed to get - Made in France, (No make name) V0602 - Part No 463641 - L577PMR - V0511FP9026887 - found 0105 written upsidedown on the top of the radio! Tried it and it didn't work. Thanks in advance.

Going back to your original post.

I`ve been having a look on the web to see if I could find a photo of your particular radio.
What I have found is that your radio will be a Philips but the number you quoted above, V0602 which you quoted in your later post as V602 (and not as above) should actually be VC602 which is the Volvo model number and NOT the Security Code.(see item 250288950508 on Ebay which is a handbook for a Volvo 440/460 with a VC602 radio )

If that is the case then the "longshot code" I quoted 4362 will not be correct..

This means that the Serial Number quoted above as V0511FP9026887 is in the Philips format , Unfortunately that is not quite correct as the second character should be an O for orange and not 0 ( zero)

This is in my Philips database and would you believe that your code as quoted in your original posting is correct. It is 0105

So your radio is a Philips type 22DC511 radio and looking up the entry instructions for that the 22DC511 , then they are as quoted previously.

This means that P1 should be a relevant button somewhere on your radio.

Thisalso means that if you can work out how to enter 0105 using those instructions, then you should have music wherever you go !

• hi there,

can anyone help? I have a Ford FM radio out of my '89 escort that no longer works after I changed the battery. Reading the manual, its a 'Model 2001 MW/LW/FM radio' and it apparently needs a 3-digit code to reactivate it.

I have it out of the car, looking all over it there are various numbers on it, nothing springs out as being the obvious serial number:

'FD 2001 K 0264599'
'89FB-18K810-CB'
'0331796'

I've asked a couple of ebayers, they can only supply 4-digit codes, so no good for my radio.

It's odd that it's called Model 2001, as it is the original radio out of my '89 escort.

Anyway thanks in advance.

hb.

Not exactly sure, but there should be a number with a 'C' at the start, based on the 331796 number the code could be 699, if the 'C' is before the 264599 it could be 318, best I can do i'm afraid;)

.

I have a Ford Code calculator that accepts just seven digit Serial Numbers .( with no letters)

So using

0264599 then the code should be 610

0331796 then the code should be 374

Can you let us know if any of these suggestions are successful?
