As I couldnt find the code you said was required I went to my local Peugeot garage who wanted £30+VAT. However they suggested trying to find out who the original supplier was and ring them. In the service manual I got the telephone number and rang them who were able to find the code on their system. RESULT.

So for anyone in a similar position I would recommend trying this.

I dont know if my code will be unique but it was 1154 in case it might help anyone else.

Hi Kirsty
L series stereos can be a bit tricky!!
Some are 4 digit codes in which case the code is : 4199
Others are 3 digit codes " ......"...... "............. " : 499
