Without sounding tight does that mean I have to buy some of those prong things to remove the unit from the dash?

That is the easiest way but four nails / bent coathanger with little notches filed in the end will do the job as long as you can ease the unit out. Look at some of the images on eBay for the shape :money:

Press button 1 until 2 appears in the first space, button 2 until 8 appears in the second, button 3 and 4 as before then press 5 to enter.

Hello there,

I've just sold my Ford Ka, which I'd had upgraded to the CD player - but just found the old cassette player in the cupboard! I'd really appreciate it if anyone could give me the code (which I was sure I'd written on the thing when I took it out, but it turns out not!)

Please check your Serial Number again to make sure it is correct.

If it is correct , then unfortunately your code will not be available for free (or cheap) from anywhere on the Internet as this Serial Number is not in the available PHILIPS database.

It requires access to the original manufacturer`s database which is only available from your Main Dealer .(and a few of the larger Professional Radio Decode Specialists)

Otherwise try a Decoding Service or your local Car Radio / Audio Shop who will electronically "read "/ recode the memory chip (EEPROM) using a laptop and specialist software.
