:(Hi
My firm is in financial trouble and has been for a while.Last week laid off half the work force and was only paid part of wage for that week promised to get the rest this week. The problem i have is i will give him this week to come good on promise but looking at how bad things our i think its very unlikely of being paid.I can not walk away as i have been employed with them for 18 years and would lose everything. When can i say enough is enough and can i leave without jeopardizing my redundancy etc..

It all depends. Have a look at this
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Employment/Understandingyourworkstatus/Temporarylayoff/DG_10026693
then come back with specific questions when you have a better idea of where you stand.0 -
If you have been laid off for more than 4 consecutive weeks then you can claim a redundancy payment0
