From ESA to Businessman - ADVICE NEEDED

I'm currently on ESA and have been for just over 16 months. I'm currently going the appeals process but I'm looking to the future - thinking about setting up in business (probably easier than finding a job).

I have an idea and would like to protect a trade name. One way is to set up a limited company, but without actually starting the business - I'm not ready and wont be for another 12 months - so I'd class or register it as being dormant.

Can I register a limited company, but not trade, and still keep my ESA?

Thing is, I'm not ready but I don't want to stay on ESA forever. I think I will have a better chance if I do something on my own than try and get a job. I need to pay off my debts or get a DRO.

It's cheaper to set up a limited company than register a trade name - mad or what? Or have I got that wrong.

I need to do something or I'll get worse. Wish me luck! No idea what to do - step up, step out, or DRO.
