Telecom plus and utility comparison sites
Just a quick question if someone could help please
I am with telecom plus, I have managed to get cheaper suppliers for telephone and gas, but not electric, I am a high user, I had a letter off them this morning that they have re-adjusted their prices again and gas has gone down, but electric up slightly, they are now charging 9.419 per KWh inc vat plus monthly £4.22 standing charge and £1.50 membership.
Do the comparison sites account for the standing charges and membership fee when comparing figures?

They do.
But UW have played a trick on you in their letter as they have quoted you the price of electricity including VAT (@5%), but their £1.50 "membership" without VAT. This is also a monthly charge, and is not £1.50, but £1.76 (including VAT @ 17.5%).0 -

I switched my Gas and Electric from T+ about a year ago and am so glad I did, particularly in view of their recent price rises. You should tend to find that dual fuel deals will give you the biggest savings. At present Npower's SOL (Sign on line) tariff appears to be one of the most competitive however I cannot check this for you as the rates for electricity vary for different parts of the country and I don't know where you are.

Thanks peter
Yes I just want to cancel completely with them now.
I have changed gas to Ebico, would like to put electric with them too, but all the comparison sites say I will be worse off by about £100. I think I will change to SWALEC only a £6 saving a year, but I was very happy with customer service from them in the past .0 -

But you may find that they do not. Always worth checking both the duel fuel deals and the do it separately deals to see which setup is the cheapest.0
