Ok thanks for that. I've started it dear sir/madam and put at the end of paragraph 6 '......pork fillet steak’s will be as well, which will obviously present an Environmental Health issue, not to mention a product recall'.

    How's that then?

*feeling really chuffed with myself now* i even sound half-intelligent!!! :D

    Tiny point:

Dear Name to start, "Yours sincerely" to end

Dear Sir to start, "Yours faithfully" to end

Also I think that it is
steaks' not steak's (because you are refering to the labels of many steaks, not the label of one steak).

Sounds fine and explains the situation well. :)

Though I'd mention that there is no apostrophe in "steaks", though ;)
  • i know - i've just realised now. I also changed the ending to yours faithfully, but forgot to mention that on the last post. I'm changing the steak's to steaks now. Thanks :D

I don't think OP was talking about the labels of steaks, in which case - you're right - it would be "steaks' labels". Judging by the rest of the sentences, she just meant the plural of steak, which is steaks. :)

Anyway, good luck with your complaint. Just thought I'd mention I've always found Asda's meat a bit funny - it always goes off long before the sell-by date. :(

Sorry, my mistake, it is the sell by dates of many steaks that is being discussed, not the labels, but still should be " steaks' " in this particular sentence:

"you do so before this happens as the sell by date on your product was definitely wrong and I fear the other pork fillet steak’s will be as well."

She offered me another one or double my money back. obviously i took the money. She also gave me a £10 gift card for my efforts, but she offered no apology and didn't look like she cared...

I want to take my complaint further,

The letter is ok I guess. Apart from an investigation, what is it that you want?

Do you want an apology? Do you want more compensation?
If that is what you want .... ask for it.

Do you know that the other products were not checked? I mean, did you take your double refund and gift card and then go:confused: Or did you stick around for a while to see if the other pork wotsits were checked:confused:
If so, state how long you stuck around etc and that none of the other pork things were checked (otherwise you are just making assumptions that the other stock was not checked). I would also mention the name of the two members of staff. Hopefully you got their names when you mentioned that you would be taking the complaint further.

    HTH & Good luck!
I can say whatever I like here ... 'cos no one can see me .. ner ner ner ner ner !!!....

How do you know I ain't sitting here butt naked?!?!

I thunk I've made you think for a minute!

  • Yes, the one i was talking to was called cheryl, but i didn't get the name of the one who interupted me. Thing is, i don't want her to lose her job or anything, i hate to think that happened because of me, but i do think she should have given a better level of service.

What i want is more compensation as i don't think that £10 plus double my money back (£6.44, the steak was £3.22) is enough considering it ruined our evening. i wasn't sure about writing anything about compensatino in case they turn round and say that i've had it and that's that. Also, i do want an investigation, because if anyone had decided to eat it then they would have been ill. Like i say, the steak looked ok, but the smell was rancid. MrY said that it should be ok because it looks ok but i insisted on taking it back, so some people probably would have eaten it, therefore presenting a risk to themselves.

Ally, if you can think up of a letter for me that sounds better than that one, please feel free to do me one, as like i've said, i am crap at these things! :)

No reason for you to not get compensation seeing as you were ''ushered'' into taking it. I called Tesco flowers after some I ordered arrived for my mums birthday poorly and were nearly dead by the next day :( called them up and just got a refund?! that seemed fine to me, thinking i cud have got some more compensation but refund is alright for me either way.
Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives
call your credit card company, tell them that you want to leave, 99% of the time theyll lower your APR%
Remember when that Bank Manager or Salesperson smiles at you, all he sees is £ notes. Dont forget the motto, "the wider their grin, the more debt your in"
  • I am an expert complainer but find it difficult to find a reason for you to complain except the girl interupting you.

The customer service girl offered a replacement or double refund, she gave you a £10 gift voucher FREE I cant seen what else you think a bit of smelly steak warrants. If she wasnt sorry enough maybe she was having a bad day

Nobody died nobody was ill nobody even ate the steak. If you had eaten it and were ill that would be a different ball game, Id say take em to court
