maternity pay or maternity allowance

Im confused it states on the government website that if you have worked for 26 weeks up to the 15th week before baby due company pays maternity pay

then underneath it states only if you earn over £98 is the correct.

I wil learn £93 a week so does that mean when the time comes i will claim maternity allowance

Yes. You can't get SMP but you might get Maternity Allowance instead. You'll have to go to the jobcentre for it.

how confusing

I start a job in the next two weeks and am planning anotheer child soon.

I will wrk 16 hrs on minimum wage so will just fall short of the £98 needed.

The way I read it I should get maternity allowance cos I will have worked for 26 weeks out of the 66 weeks before the baby was born

Is the right lol.
