Help please choosing the right backpack for my laptop

Hello.
I'm looking to upgrade my current Samsonite 350 Series Sahora backpack to get something bigger but that also has all the features (pockets, padding, straps) that I would need. I also have to consider the fact that I now have a 17" inch laptop rather than the 15.4" inch one that I had before.
For comparison, here's what I had before:
http://www.samsonite.com/gb/en/local_product_display.jsp;jsessionid=0PA2RATR4GUEEQ05CLV10XA?product=128*049
I've been told that Victorinox make good backpacks, and after much searching found these two:
Victorinox TravelGear Bond:
http://www.swissarmy.com/TravelGear/Product.htm?category=backpacksmessengersbackpacks&product=31191&
And the Victorinox Trek Pack Wheeled Laptop Backpack
http://www.essentials4travel.com/mall/productpage.cfm?store=e4t&productid=vct0050
The TravelGear Bond is the larger of the two by 685 cubic inches (or 11212 cubic centimetres), but I like the idea of being able to wheel my laptop around when travelling (which I do sometimes) or when it becomes too heavy.
The things I'm not sure about are the ability to cope with my 17" laptop )I know the inner foam won't after seeing some reviews on it but can always get another), and also trying to compare the other features. I'm sorry that the link for the wheeled backpack isn't more detailed, but Victorinox seem to have multiple sites depending on the region and I couldn't find one for the UK.
I'd be really grateful if someone could advise me on this - I know it's more of a 'personal choice' question, but I'm hopeless when it comes to this sort of thing. Is 685 cubic inches all that much, and given that the wheeled backpack, though the smaller of the two, is still 366 cubic inches (or 5899 cubic centimetres) bigger than the one I have at the moment would that still make a difference? I want to be able to store all my laptop kit in here, including lunchbox, and also my jacket (which I can only just get in with a squeeze into my current one) and some papers and books.
Again, sorry if this seems pointless or a waste of time, but surely there must be some business travellers or others who've had to choose such backpacks in the past who could help?
Thanks very much in advance.
Cheers and take care.
Hussein.

I really rate Targus. Best bit is their website has a laptop compatibility selector - choose the screen size of your laptop and they tell you which bags are compatible - http://www.targus.com/uk/cases_notebook_17inch.asp

b.t.w. Costco have some really nice business luggage at the moment. I'm pretty sure they are selling the Victorinox stuff.
