I was approached by the same beggar/scammer for the third time in the last few months on my way home from work last night. Basically someone approaches you with a fake wound on their arm and fake blood covering their sleeve. They say they have had an accident and first ask for directions to the nearest hospital then if/when you tell them they claim not to have any money on them and ask for money for bus fare. The first time he did it to me I told him to walk, the second time I reminded him that he tried to get me a week before and he wondered off, the third time I felt like giving him a reason to go to A&E!
He obviously makes a living out of it, at least enough to warrant putting on his wound make-up and doing his "rounds". He probably makes quite a bit of money from unsuspecting people too, particularly the elderly. I could see my mum falling for it. People like that make me sick.

There are a couple of lads doing this in Lidl carparks, and I know that it is much more difficult for a woman to admit that this kind of thing happened to her and ask for help. So, ladies, you can buy cheap purses in Lidl for £1.99 or Sainsburys do a nice range for £2.50. Leave them empty and it shouldn't cost more than £5-10 per week! Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....
