housing benefit and DLA question

Hi everyone, I posted a few weeks back on how my boyfriend was planning on starting up his own business - typical me...I got a bit muddled at the responses lol.
Some basic info: He's just started up his business repairing household appliances. He is looking into public liability insurance and has permission from his landlord to set up a workshop where he lives.
Is he entitled to any benefits? He lives with his mother and father - his mother is on DLA and housing benefit, will his business affect anything?
Thanks in advance

If your boyfriend's mother (or father) is in receipt of the CARE component of DLA, and assuming the only change is that he is commencing work, his parents' HB/CTB will not be affected by his circumstances. There are no "non-dependant" deductions where a claimant (or partner) receives the care component of DLA.
However, if DLA consists of the mobility component only, DX2 is correct.0
