Ebay- Item not being found in searches

I listed an item on Ebay for sale yesterday but using key words from the item title still doesn't bring my item up from a search.
Is their anyway to improve it's chances of being seen if I know the keywords people would enter to find it?
It is available as I have managed to find it but it is found under it's specific make number rather than the more general brand title, even though both were entered as the products title.

Sometimes rude words or dubious ones will delist the item automatically, have a look. i was trying to see a CD with F*** in the song title and it wouldnt show.0

It may be that you didn't put a space either side of the main name in your title - that would prevent it showing up in a search - for example, some people put asterisks or other 'eye-catching' punctuation (even speech marks) either side of the main name in the title. Putting the name right next to the make number without a space between could also prevent it from being found in a search. Check spellings to make sure that you haven't made any mistakes as again, most people (excepts MSEers!) only search using the correctly spelled names.
If you discover an error in the title you can edit it, provided that there are no bids and more than 12 hours to the end of the auction.
If you cannot edit the title you could add a second line to it (for an additional 35p) - the subtitle wording is found through a seacrh of 'title AND description' but it can be helpful as well as increasing your auction's visibility in a list of many similar auctions.
Finally, if you have other auctions running remember to selct 'cross-promotions' on eBay so that bidders/buyers will automatically be shown your other auctions.
Sometimes auctions don't show up in early searches - although if it is showing up in the make number search that does suggest to me that there is some sort of error in the way that you have written your brand or item name in the title.
Hope some of this helps you! Good luck!0 -
No rude words, it's a PC processor, lol
Thanks boglin, I'll have a look for spelling mistakes.
Is their anywhere else you can advertise your stuff for sale on Ebay? (for free)0 -
As a small aside, here's a useful little site http://www.fatfingers.co.uk/Default.aspx - it searches EBay looking for mis-spelt listings, you could try looking for yours with that - can often find things other people miss.0
