flash player on my linux acer notebook?

Hi guys i have one of those mini notebooks with linux installed and on facebook there have been a few vids i have been waiting to see but i get asked to do the following:
Flash Player upgrade required
You must download and install the latest version of the Adobe Flash Player to view this content.

There are various download options to pick from and none seem to work or i have no idea how to download this and so i can access these vids and others i want to see, others are able to see these vids but i think thats cause they are probably using windows but i have no idea why i need to download this and why i cant.

Could someone advise me as to how i can download this and what i need to do,as feel i am missing out on stuff i need to see,i am not really clued up on the linux etc and normaly use windows,so need to know what i am doing wrong.
