All summer I have used my daughter's wireless laptop, she going to steal it away from me Friday to go back to uni. I have saved many links and sites that I have found here into the favourites. Now I would like them on the other pc we use. I have looked in help in windows and I think I have to export them to disc. Has anybody got any better ideas, I dont have a memory stick, Can I email them to other pc ???? Or do I just use a dvd or cd (bit wasteful) Thanks for any ideas you might have :A I guess a cd is pretty cheap, but if I can do it for free it would be more MSE
If I put them on disc is it easy to then get them on the other pc?

If you are just talking about a few .url files, zip them up into a .zip file, and mail them.
If you have a floppy disk, they would probably fit on it.
If the PC's are linked on a network, you could do it that way.
You just copy the .url files into your favorites folder.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -

What about using an online storage space for your bookmarks like:
https://www.getmarks.com
You store all your links online and then you can retrieve them from anywhere - that might be a solutionHeard the Shaggy Taxi Wind Up Phone Call?

That sounds like a good idea, I did follow the import export thing that was in windows, I copied it and saved it as bookmark file. I emailed the file to other computer and got an error message saying it was an invalid bookmark file   So I opened the email where I could see the shortcuts and one by one moved them to favourites (I won't be beaten) I will add your link to my favourites for when my daughter comes home at Christmas thanks for that0 -
Quick way...
Go to... Start Menu -> My Computer -> Local Disk ( C: ) -> Documents and Settings
Then double click on your username. Copy the 'Favourites' file onto a disc or USB pen, then paste it in the exact same place on the new computer.
If it says 'These files are hidden' when you open the C: drive, click on 'Show the content of this folder'.
Job done.:j0 -
